Travelling to Europe? Here is what the Quran says about travelling

Europe is a fantastic place to visit with its breathtaking landscapes and infrastructures. You can visit European countries freely without the fear of being a victim of racism.

But before you are planning any European tour, remember that Islam only allows Halal tourism. A Halal-friendly holiday means you must plan your holiday according to the teachings of the Quran.

Halal tourism also includes eating Halal food and avoiding alcohol or anything that is forbidden in Islam throughout your holiday.

Teachings of Islam

Being a Muslim, it is crucial to follow the teachings of the Quran. Islam is not a religion that forces human beings to bind themselves within the four walls of their house. You are not expected to stay where you are and offer your prayers just because you are a Muslim. Islam is a diverse religion and allows you to do whatever pleases your soul, being in the circle of its teachings.

No doubt, it is necessary for Muslims to follow religious practices, but it is not the only thing that we have to do throughout our life. We must explore the world, nature, the beauty of our earth, and see what Allah has created for us.

Muslims need to travel around the world and depict the positive side of our religion to change people’s negative perspective about Islam and Muslims.

As human life is a constant journey, we can find numerous verses of the Quran and hadiths of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) upon travelling and exploring this world.

As our Prophet (P.B.U.H) said:

“What is Dunya for me. An example of me and the Dunya is that of a traveler who naps under the shade of a tree, then departs and leaves it.”

Allah has created this world for humankind, and He wants us to see the mesmerizing wonders of it, to meet amazing people, and to strengthen our religious beliefs by observing the hidden secrets of this universe.

As stated in the Holy Quran;

“Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than these and superior in strength and the traces (they have left) in the land: Yet all that they accomplished was of no profit to them.”

Ghafir – 40:82

You don’t necessarily have to deal with Haram things during your holiday to Europe. You might be worried about music and Haram food, but you can also find these things in some Muslim countries.

It is also important to remember that you cannot expect any 100% Halal European country when it comes in terms of Haram things.  But Halal holidays are genuinely possible in Europe, you just need to plan accordingly.

You need to search for the places that are offering Halal food, mosques for praying, and Halal friendly accommodation. European countries have some of the best cities that are Halal-friendly for Muslims and provide Halal food with appealing aroma and finger-licking taste.
